The Golden Hand of Benevar
Stoud is stocky, of average Svirfneblin height and rounds out the small group known as the Guard. He is the newest member of the Guard, being the youngest, and is often impulsive and somewhat quick to anger. Diggerdown and the rest of the group take turns fostering him, and he learns skills from each. Though he is the least skilled of the bunch, he possesses the determination often attributed to the stubbornness of burgeoning youth. While not quite the master of finesse, Stoud’s stocky, thick frame and excess courage often contributes to battles in a positive manner—he wades into the enemy, knocking them aside through sheer momentum and orientation of mass. Sometimes this behavior gets him in over his head, but luckily his comrades are generally close at hand, filling the gaps that would otherwise enclose his battling form and overwhelm him. Stoud is not particularly chatty, but does tend to vault into stories applauding the exploits of himself and his brothers. Stoud’s armor is a tad excessive, with extra strips of leather and piecemeal metal supports. He carries a short sword and a spiked shield that he uses in unison to tackle enemies with both hands.
